Enforcing incompressible is very important in real time simulation. Although, there are great achievements in this regard, it still suffers from unnecessary time consumption in certain steps that is common in real time applications.   This research develops a real-time cloth simulator for a virtual human character (VHC) with wearable clothing. This research achieves success in cloth simulation on the VHC through enhancing the position-based dynamics (PBD) framework by computing a series of positional constraints which implement constant densities. Also, the self-collision and collision with moving capsules is implemented to achieve realistic behavior cloth modelled on animated characters. This is to enable comparable incompressibility and convergence to raised cosine deformation (RCD) function solvers. On implementation, this research achieves optimized collision between clothes, syncing of the animation with the cloth simulation and setting the properties of the cloth to get the best results possible. Therefore, a real-time cloth simulation, with believable output, on animated VHC is achieved. This research perceives our proposed method can serve as a completion to the game assets clothing pipeline

Lip syncing method for realistic expressive three-dimensional face model

Lip synchronization of 3D face model is now being used in a multitude of important fields. It brings a more human and dramatic reality to computer games, films and interactive multimedia, and is growing in use and importance. High level realism can be used in demanding applications such as computer games and cinema. Authoring lip syncing with complex and subtle expressions is still difficult and fraught with problems in terms of realism. Thus, this study proposes a lip syncing method of realistic expressive 3D face model. Animated lips require a 3D face model capable of representing the movement of face muscles during speech and a method to produce the correct lip shape at the correct time. The 3D face model is designed based on MPEG-4 facial animation standard to support lip syncing that is aligned with input audio file. It deforms using Raised Cosine Deformation function that is grafted onto the input facial geometry. This study also proposes a method to animate the 3D face model over time to create animated lip syncing using a canonical set of visemes for all pairwise combinations of a reduced phoneme set called ProPhone. Finally, this study integrates emotions by considering both Ekman model and Plutchik’s wheel with emotive eye movements by implementing Emotional Eye Movements Markup Language to produce realistic 3D face model. The experimental results show that the proposed model can generate visually satisfactory animations with Mean Square Error of 0.0020 for neutral, 0.0024 for happy expression, 0.0020 for angry expression, 0.0030 for fear expression, 0.0026 for surprise expression, 0.0010 for disgust expression, and 0.0030 for sad expression

The purpose of this thesis was to describe expectations of service and service experiences of immigrant clients living in Espoo in healthcare centers situated in Espoo. The subject was given by Espoo city as well as the wish that it would be carried out with interviews. The aim was to get new information about how clients with immigrant backgrounds are met in healthcare centers and in situations where their care needs are assessed, as well as to develop multicultural nursing with the help of our results. There are two parts in this thesis, the theoretic part and interview study. The theoretic background is made of Finnish and international literature which deals with immigrants and multiculturalism. The results were compared with earlier studies on expectations of service and service experiences of clients with immigrant backgrounds. The study was carried out using the qualitative approach. The material was gathered during two separate days in two different healthcare centers in Espoo. The interview places were decided in co-operation with a representative of Espoo city. The first interview day was in Leppävaara healthcare center and the second in Samaria healthcare center which is located in Espoo centrum. There were seven participants to the interviews. The material was analyzed using the inductive or material oriented method. All interviewees had African backgrounds. The results indicated that understanding instructions depended on how well the customers understood the Finnish language. Expressing oneself in Finnish was more difficult than understanding it. When we asked more precise questions about their experiences of phone service, everyone thought it was handy and they were pleased with the system that calls you back. For the subject of further study we suggest broader interview studies of more diverse groups of immigrants. The results of our study pointed out the needs of newly-arrived middle-aged immigrants and of elderly immigrants, who may have stayed in the country for a longer time. Since the prospective interviewees didn’t have enough time for our interviews and interpreters couldn’t be arranged for entire days, it would be preferable to arrange the interviews outside health care centers in places were immigrants gather often, and where they could be asked to volunteer for the study

Wavelet Fractal Image Watermarking System (WFIWS)

In this paper, a robust watermarking method is presented. Using the discrete Haar wavelet transform, the proposed method exploits the large coefficients high frequency subband information to embed the invisible fractal watermarked image. The fractal technique is adopted for information preservation from unintended and malicious users. For a still color image, the fractals are created through the midpoint displacement method. By so doing, the original image is utilized for watermarking. The efficacy of the proposed method is in the fact that under JPEG2000 compression distortions, efficient watermarking is still achieved. For a secure and imperceptible watermarking, a fractal approach of watermark embedding is proposed and extracted from the original image. A fractal approach of watermark embedding is proposed and extracted from the original image under the degree of compression that makes the size of image decrease into (1:3). These efficacies of the proposed method make it appropriate to use like owner identification, proof of ownership, and transactional watermarks

Using Feature Extraction to Recognize Handwritten Text Image

Abstract — In this paper, a robust technique for identifying and recognizing Handwritten Text images is presented. There are many methods for Handwritten Text, but most of them require segmentation or connected component analysis. The Recognition process utilizes the determinant value that produces the features for the Handwritten Text. Image’s determinants values are computed by dividing image into blocks then designed Threshold (T) to extract feature, afterwards, use chain code to find the centric point and direction of text. The least square criterion is then utilized to determine the similarity between the existed (in Database file) Handwritten Text with a new query Handwritten Text’s images
